RENT ME

Standard

Yesterday, I wrote about large rental companies that offer a huge variety of products that make up a big part of an event.

Today, I want to talk about more specialized companies….the ones where you walk in and want to own everything in sight for your home.

In particular – JOE’S PROP HOUSE.  Joe and Maria  from ‘Joe’s Prop house’ created the slogan ‘RENT ME’ and started placing these tags on all of their pieces to indicate to people that they could actually rent them…things like antique furniture, typewriters, vintage tea sets, luggages, hats of all sorts, etc, etc.

These ‘rent me’ signs also gave clients the little extra push they needed to succumb to temptation and order some key décor pieces to accent their event in the utmost style.

Let me clarify – JPH, as of today, do not own things like cutlery, glassware, and plates but rather they rent showcase pieces….amazing furniture, special chairs, large wooden tables and consoles, and props to do with every theme you can imagine. Plus they custom make stuff.

I couldn’t help but find myself choosing a few key to-die for pieces for my own wedding. The ‘Rent Me’ signs pushed me over the edge.

Another hidden gem in our industry is TENUE DE SOIRÉE. Tenue de Soirée is a specialized table linen company that has the most beautiful, different, well-maintained, quality tablecloths to really add uniqueness to your event. They also one of the only companies that carries the ONLY chaircovers that I like….the ruched ones. I am so pleased to be working with Mireille on my wedding simply because I know I don’t have to worry about having someone steam cloths….biggest waste of time for a planner to sit there steaming during a set up!

Two other companies that are adding some dimension to my event are DENIS GAMELIN LTEE & THEMEWORKS. These companies have been around for a while and are both master décor creators. They probably own the biggest inventory in the city of backdrops, curtains, trees, chandeliers, and more.

Two items I am super excited about are the gold velour shimmer curtains being provided by DENIS GAMELIN (namely because I had to make 100 calls before I could find someone who owned them) and secondly, the amazing backdrop to my head table being custom created by Themeworks for me. I was really looking to stay away from a curtain backdrop or flowers and this piece is going to be romantic, clean, cool and impactful (if it comes out how I imagine it!)

Sooooooooooo excited to be working with so many of my favorite people in the industry under one roof. I’m sure each of the rental companies would rather me try to find everything I need in one place but I can’t help but love a variety of stuff and am a big believer in ‘collaboration’.  Don’t get me wrong – this doesn’t apply in my love life…I only love one variety of man…. The Jason Girosan Variety.  Now that I think of it…I also only love one variety of grape…..Cabernet Sauvignon. I think it’s time I leave the office now and go enjoy home to enjoy these varieties. 🙂
