Years ago I planned an event for a special man who had access to one of the most breathtaking venues in this city to host an event. We planned several incredible events there and everytime, people’s jaws would drop as they entered the space. It was unlike any place I had ever seen….especially not in this city. I can’t tell you where it was but all you need to know is that it is not rentable at the moment…unfortunately. It was literally THE most spectacular event space and I was truly hoping to use it as my wedding venue.

Years later, it turns out (and luckily for me & many future brides), a certain Mr. Ezio Carosielli, an ambitious Italian entrepreneur & business man decides to buy an old bank in Old Montreal and convert it into a rentable event facility. The St-James Theatre, in my opinion, is going to revolutionize the Montreal wedding scene. No other venue in this city carries the prestige, glamour, history and beauty that this place has. No other venue is also run by such a kind, flexible and genuine person like Lee Haberkorn. 🙂 I knew, from the first time I saw a photo of the St-James Theatre, that I wanted to spend my special day in this extremely special building.
Let’s face it – there is no venue in this city that is PERFECT…there are pros and cons to all of them and the St-James Theatre is certainly not exempt from this. It was built over 100 years ago and with that comes about 100 little intricacies to consider. But how stunning is it????????
Back in November, I was lucky enough to be selected by a wonderful couple to plan their wedding there. I’ll be honest – having never worked there, I was a little nervous (and I’m never nervous when it comes to events!) but I found out everything we needed to know about the space and developed a detailed logistical plan to make sure everything went perfectly smooth….and it did….The wedding was awesome and the guests were in complete awe.
All this to say, I couldn’t be happier to be planning my dream wedding in this venue. There is no other building like it…unless maybe you’re in Italy that is.
Having planned events in this city for 10 years now, I have worked in sooooo many different spaces and truly believe the venue must match the couple or company hosting the party.
