Sooooo…..I’m getting married in 30 (ish) days! Holy S—T!
Since I got engaged back in May 2013 to the most delicious man – my love of life – Jason Girosan, my clients, friends and family don’t cease to ask me questions about my wedding….what’s the theme? what’s the dress like? which vendors am I working with? And the most cliché (and most annoying question – lol) –‘who’s planning your wedding?’
So here’s the deal – I started this blog for a few reasons:
- to document the steps involved in the planning of my own wedding
- to share my vision and ideas with my brides, friends and family
- to highlight the wonderful and extremely talented people I am working with to bring my vision to life
Over the past 8 years, I have been blessed to have been chosen by so many special couples as their wedding planner and have planned over 200 incredible weddings. With these amazing people and through their unique weddings, I’ve had the chance to witness ceremonies that brought me to tears, laughed along with guests watching children refuse to walk down aisles, shared intimate moments with mothers and daughters, have internalized the stresses of 12 different brides getting married in one month, have experienced THE craziest mother-in-laws and have revelled in watching the couple whisper to one another during their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. Every single one of these moments have made me learn and appreciate the essence of a marriage and all that it entails.
And now it’s my time. My time to take everything I have learned, everything I have preached and everything I have experienced in order to create my own DREAM wedding.
Before we begin this 30-day journey together, let me give you a little background into the life of Tania Tassone – Wedding Planner & now Bride:
- I always dreamed of a 50-person Napa Valley Vineyard Wedding but I’ve settled for 2nd best: a 250-person affair in Montreal in a venue I am in love with.
- I have the best family in the world and am bffs with my mom. And now my mother-in-law. I feel so so so bad for brides who don’t have this same opportunity because it makes the planning and the rest of your life a h—ll of a lot easier.
- I’m marrying a man who is an exact replica of my father Rocco. And Rocco is literally the most suitable name to match his personality.
- I’m a work-a-holic that loves what I do and literally work 6 if not 7 days a week. Sundays are my sacred day and my favorite activity is picnicking on the canal with Jason and my 2nd love – Bianca (my shitzhu).
- I’m Italian, a foodie and all I do besides work is eat…with Jason. Our wedding is about all about the food and giving our guests the chance to taste all of our favorite things in one evening.
- I love weddings and all things beautiful but am not a girly girl and detest the colour purple, crystals, ribbon, diamonds (fake ones – lol!) and damask – anything.
- My one priority as a wedding planner is to create a day that truly reflects the couple….my pet peeve is being at a wedding that looks exactly like the last seven that I’ve been to. Every single detail in my….I mean Jason & I’s wedding will be a true reflection of US.
- I have a hard time using the word ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’…..I’m not self-centered or anything…I’ve just been very independent my whole life…..but Jason is the first and only guy who makes me want to use these words.
